First-Ever San Diego, I Am All In, Diversity & Inclusion Parade & Festival

The signing of the American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 is celebrated on July 26th across the country by over 10 million Americans each year. And given that adults and children with disabilities represent slightly more than 20 percent of America's population, disability awareness is important for all of us. Despite the misconception that the ADA is a disability specific law, it benefits all Americans. Just think, ramps: used for strollers, shopping carts, dollies, etc. ; wider doors: make wide loads easier to enter buildings; and signs: make purchasing tickets, cross the street, reach destinations all easiest regardless of ability.

Led by Rolling With Me, and our community network partners, the goal of the I Am All In, Diversity & Inclusion Parade & Festival is to promote the independence, integration, and inclusion of all people. We developed a unique theme for this annual event and produces campaign materials that are available on our website to help make a difference.

The 2020 Diversity & Inclusion Parade & Festival campaign theme is “I AM ALL IN” No matter the differences between people, it is always better to treat others the way you want to be treated, and this is especially true when interacting with friends, co-workers, and people who come from different backgrounds or  live with disabilities. The theme is all about the importance of being comfortable in your own skin and making a t decision to be yourself because acting different around someone from a different background or with a disability isn’t cool. It’s a promise to be inclusive!

This is the 30th Anniversary of the signing of the ADA. Won’t you join thousands of advocates and people with disabilities across the country by joining Rolling With Me and making history by participating in the first-ever San Diego  I Am All In, Diversity & Inclusion Parade & Festival? Activities include events such as art exhibitions, performances, presenters, resources, and more.
